Altman has been directing the organization’s research mission since he founded it in the early 1990s. He has expertise on national health policy and speaks on health issues and was widely quoted last year due to the current healthcare transformation debate. Altman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Institute of Medicine, and serves on the governing council of the institute.
