As the founding dean and CEO of the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, Schuster will be responsible of overseeing the day-to-day operations and unique direction of the institution. The model medical education includes: community engagement, commitment to diversity and inclusion, personalized patient-centered care, among other principals. It will also waive tuition for its five graduating classes. The medical school will be named in honor after CEO Bernard Tyson, who passed away this year, is scheduled to open 2020 in California.
