Holmberg joined Highmark in 2007 and has led it since 2014. Highmark is focused on driving utilization to the right setting and reducing costs for all constituents. In February, Pennsylvania’s attorney general told UPMC to keep its network open to Highmark, and in June, a week before their partnership ended, a 10-year agreement was reached to let Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield patients continue to receive care at UPMC.
