50 Most Influential Clinical Executives
Dr. Stephen Klasko
Klasko is passionate about wanting to disrupt healthcare from within. He’s grown Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health from three hospitals in 2013 to 14 hospitals with $5.1 billion in revenue. He’s also overseen unique partnerships, including incorporating a design school into Thomas Jefferson University and reimagining how medical education is taught, with a greater focus on such things as empathy. Klasko is also leading efforts to address social determinants of health. Jefferson Health, for instance, has a free women’s clinic for displaced immigrants, a care group for trauma victims and health disparity research programs. Over the next few years, Klasko hopes to push the envelope further on telehealth and other services to reach patients where they most want to get care.
