The head of the nation’s largest physicians group continues to look for ways to reshape the industry. The AMA earlier this year announced a new $15 million grant program designed to change residency programs. The initiative is aligned with the AMA’s “Accelerating Change in Medical Education” project. Madara also announced this spring that the AMA hired its first chief health equity officer who will be responsible for launching a new program addressing health disparities in the U.S. and working toward optimal health for all.
