Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare - 2018
Sandra Johnson
Vice president and chief revenue officer, Johns Hopkins Medicine
Johnson supervised a five-year implementation of an enterprise-wide electronic health record and financial system. The project'which involved five hospitals; 500 clinics, home health, transplant and oncology centers; and 32 free-standing facilities'was done on time and on budget without the help of consultants or additional staff. And it didn't harm Johns Hopkins' finances. With the system in place, Johns Hopkins had a record year for collections, totaling $4.4 billion. Johnson is also focused on boosting patient satisfaction and embracing the drive toward consumerism by advancing such technologies as online check-in, registration and bill-pay. She is also leading a project to ensure that patients get a single consolidated bill for their care.
