McWhorter has been COO at Baylor Scott & White since 2015, but he has more than 20 years' experience with the system and its predecessor organizations. He leads all operations for an organization with $9 billion in revenue, more than 6.6 million patient encounters annually, more than 1,000 care sites, 48 hospitals, 7,800 physicians and 47,000 employees. In his previous role as president of flagship Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, he oversaw a 1,065-bed not-for-profit academic medical center. McWhorter previously held leadership positions with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark.
