Hoggard Green has been COO of Mission Health, North Carolina's sixth-largest health system, since 2011. She also serves as president of Mission Hospital, a 760-bed teaching center. Hoggard Green manages the operations for a health system serving residents who are older, poorer, sicker and less likely to be insured than state and national averages. Mission Hospital alone provided $21 million more charity care than last year. The health system cut costs by nearly $70 million in 2017 and identified another $50 million in 2018. Under Hoggard Green's leadership, Mission Health was named one of the 15 Top Health Systems by IBM Watson Health (previously Truven Health Analytics) in 2015 and 2017, and one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2018 by IBM Watson. In March, Mission Health signed a letter of intent to merge with Nashville-based HCA Healthcare.
