Santulli took on the role as COO of the nation's 10th-largest not-for-profit system when Advocate Healthcare and Aurora Healthcare completed their merger in April. Santulli had been executive vice president and COO of Advocate since 2003. The combined organization has more than 500 sites of care and more than 8,100 physicians across Illinois and Wisconsin. Santulli is currently serving as chairman of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association's board of trustees. Before being named COO of Advocate, he served as chief executive at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill., for two years. Previously he was COO at New England Medical Center, an academic medical center in Boston. He also held executive positions with Iowa Health System in Des Moines, UniHealth America in Los Angeles and Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Wash.
