Excellence in Nursing Awards - 2018

Having been on the front lines as a nurse's aide, Jeana Rasmussen knows what it takes to not just survive, but thrive as a caregiver. Originally hired by MGA Home Healthcare in 2014 as a field nurse, Rasmussen quickly proved her value to the organization. Within six months she was promoted to a management role and in late 2016 was asked to lead the newly formed MGA Academy. The academy offers nurse's aide, CPR and first aid certification programs. Rasmussen works closely with students, encouraging them to develop critical thinking skills and learn how to adapt to virtually any scenario they may encounter with a patient. One of her classroom mantras is “know the why behind the what.”
