In late 2017, the AMA threw its hat into the data and interoperability game with the launch of the Integrated Health Model Initiative, which will develop a framework for the industry to collect, organize and share health data. In announcing the initiative, Madara said data is too often fragmented, inaccessible and incomplete. The initiative is one in a long line that Madara has launched since taking over at the AMA in 2011.
