Bowen has been CEO of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2013, when she succeeded longtime CEO Tom Dolan. Earlier this year, she won the Samuel B. Shapiro Award for excellence in leadership from the Association Forum, a Chicago-based trade group for associations. This comes on the heels of the ACHE in 2016 being honored with the ILPEx Gold Award for Achievement of Excellence, which is affiliated with the national Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.
