Campaign:
How to Distinguish Between a Cold and the Flu
Client:
UnitedHealthcare
The 2017-18 flu season was brutal. An estimated 900,000 people were hospitalized and 80,000 people died from flu-related illnesses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Unfortunately, flu symptoms often mimic cold symptoms, which can cause confusion among consumers who may not know if they have the flu or a cold, so they might not seek medical attention in a timely manner. Not only does this impact patients, it also results in inefficient use of the healthcare system. UnitedHealthcare created a campaign to educate people on what distinguishes a common cold from the flu. The campaign generated significant viewer engagement with nearly 1.63 million impressions, 15,693 interactions and 3,029 clicks.
