Sister Carol Keehan

Since 2005, Keehan has been president and CEO of the Catholic Health Association, which has 620 member hospitals across the country. In that role, she has served as a tireless advocate for faith-based healthcare and access to health services for all. Keehan began her healthcare career as a nurse in 1965 when she joined the Daughters of Charity Healthcare System. She went on to hold a number of administrative roles, including vice president for nursing and ambulatory care at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. She served as the hospital's CEO from 1989 to 2004. She was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (Cross for the Church and Pontiff) by Pope Benedict XVI for her dedication to "carrying on the healing ministry of Jesus Christ."
