For nearly a decade, Binder has served as president and CEO of the Leapfrog Group, a not-for-profit dedicated to improving quality and safety at healthcare provider organizations. Under her leadership, the organization has launched a number of initiatives, including the Hospital Safety Score, which assigns letter grades assessing the safety of hospitals across the country. She is a regular contributor to Forbes.com, the Huffington Post and the Wall Street Journal online expert forum and sits on numerous national boards and councils. Before joining Leapfrog, Binder held a number of other roles, including a stint as a senior policy adviser to then-New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and eight years as vice president at Franklin Community Health Network, Farmington, Maine.
