Fischer-Wright has been president and CEO of the MGMA for the past two years. The association and its 50 state affiliates represent more than 33,000 administrators and executives in 18,000 healthcare organizations in which 385,000 physicians practice. Fischer-Wright has deep experience in the clinical side of physician-group operations as well as the administrative side. After starting her own medical practice, she spent a few years as a management consultant and later served as president of the Rose Medical Group, a 680-physician multispecialty practice in Denver. In 2008 she co-authored the New York Times best-seller Tribal Leadership: Leveraging Natural Groups to Build a Thriving Organization.
