Bowen has been president and CEO of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2013. The ACHE is an international professional association with more than 40,000 members who lead healthcare organizations of all sizes, from the smallest community hospitals to the top multistate integrated health systems. After joining the ACHE in 1992 as director of government relations, she held other leadership roles before becoming executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2003 and then being named to the top job 10 years later. From 2000 to 2003 she served as deputy executive director of the Society of Actuaries and deputy director of public affairs at the Wisconsin Medical Society before returning to the ACHE.
