Maryland has been the president of healthcare operations and COO of Ascension Health, the nation's largest not-for-profit health system, since 2013. She will take over as executive vice president and CEO at umbrella organization Ascension in July, succeeding Robert Henkel, who is retiring. Maryland currently manages operations at 141 hospitals and 2,500 care sites across 24 states and the District of Columbia. She previously was the Michigan Ministry market leader and president and CEO of Michigan-based St. John Providence Health System, part of Ascension. Prior to those roles, Maryland was the president of St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital as well as executive vice president and COO for St. Vincent Health.
