Gentry has been senior vice president and COO of Sentara Healthcare since 2016. He has responsibility for overall operations of the system's provider divisions, including 12 hospitals; Sentara Life Care Corp., which operates skilled-nursing and assisted-living facilities; and Sentara Enterprises, a medical supply, equipment and services unit. He has been with Sentara since 2008. Before joining Sentara, Gentry served for eight years as president and CEO of the Florida Hospital Memorial System. He also spent 10 years in leadership roles at Park Ridge Hospital in Hendersonville, N.C., the last five as CEO.
