Wilbanks has been executive vice president and COO since 2004. Baptist operates five hospitals, a 142-member physician primary-care network, a home health agency and a behavioral health program. The health system is amid a five-year, $450 million capital improvement plan. During his tenure as COO, Baptist Health expanded with the addition of an 88-bed hospital and an $84 million fully digital medical center. Wilbanks joined Baptist as vice president of professional services in 1986 and was promoted to senior vice President in 1990. He is currently board chairman of the Sulzbacher Center, which provides comprehensive services for the homeless in the Jacksonville area.
