McWhorter has served as COO at Baylor Scott & White since 2015, although he has more than 20 years' experience with the system and its predecessor organizations. He is responsible for 34 hospitals including both wholly owned and partnership facilities, as well as 882 clinics and other patient-care sites representing $8 billion in revenue, 43,000 employees and 6,000 physicians. In his previous role as president of flagship Baylor University Medical Center, he oversaw a 1,065-bed not-for-profit academic medical center with over $1 billion in revenue. McWhorter also held leadership positions with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark.
