Dr. Tejal Gandhi, as chief clinical and safety officer at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, leads programs focusing on improving patient and workforce safety. Until earlier this year, she was president and CEO of the National Patient Safety Foundation, which recently merged with the IHI. She continues to serve as president of the Lucian Leape Institute, a think tank that operates under the IHI patient-safety umbrella. She also holds an appointment as associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
