Since taking over five years ago as CEO of Providence Health & Services, now Providence St. Joseph Health, Dr. Rodney Hochman has aggressively pursued a population health management strategy for the 34-hospital system, which has facilities in five Western states. Before joining Providence in 2012, he was president and CEO of Swedish Health Services in Seattle and previously held leadership positions with Sentara Healthcare in Virginia, the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and the Guthrie health system in Pennsylvania. Hochman is a regional board chairman for the American Hospital Association and serves as vice chairman for the Catholic Health Association.
