Until June 1, Dr. Robert Pearl was the longtime executive director and CEO of the Permanente Medical Group, president and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, and co-CEO of the Permanente Federation. Pearl has been responsible for the care that is delivered to approximately 5 million Kaiser Permanente members. He serves on the faculty as a clinical professor of plastic surgery at Stanford and is also on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he teaches courses on strategy and leadership. He is an advocate for the power of integrated, prepaid and technologically enabled healthcare delivery systems. Most recently, he became chairman of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices, an affiliate of the American Medical Group Association.
