Mark Chassin
President/CEO, Joint Commission
Dr. Mark Chassin has been president and CEO of the Joint Commission since 2008. In this role, he oversees the activities of the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. Chassin is also president of the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare, which works with the nation's hospitals and health systems to address healthcare's most critical quality and patient-safety challenges. Previously, Chassin was the Edmond A. Guggenheim professor of health policy and founding chairman of the health policy department at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He also served as executive vice president for excellence in patient care at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
