Dr. Bruce Siegel took the helm in 2010 at America's Essential Hospitals, the advocacy organization for the nation's safety net hospitals, and has used his extensive background in healthcare management, policy and public health to achieve the association's strategic vision of its members as integrated delivery systems and leaders in access and quality. He previously was director of the Center for Health Care Quality and a professor of health policy at the George Washington University School of Public Health. Siegel also served as CEO of two large member systems: Tampa (Fla.) General Healthcare and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp., the nation's largest public hospital system, now known as NYC Health & Hospitals.
