Fetter is CEO of the nation's third-largest investor-owned hospital chain with 2016 revenue of $19.6 billion. He is the architect behind the 2015 majority acquisition of United Surgical Partners International, one of the nation's largest ambulatory surgery center chains that has put Tenet at the forefront of the industry shift to more outpatient surgeries vs. inpatient. Tenet is phasing out its health plan, and in June mended fences with Humana and returned all of its hospitals and physicians to in-network status with the giant insurer.
