Installed as HHS secretary in February, Price oversees a federal department with an array of agencies responsible for healthcare policy, insurance and research. An orthopedic surgeon and former seven-term congressman, Price has been one of the Trump administration's most stalwart advocates for repealing the Affordable Care Act and making major cuts to Medicaid. He has also supported a proposal to significantly reduce his own department's discretionary funding, to the tune of over $12.4 billion. A third-generation physician following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, he most recently served as the U.S. representative for Georgia's 6th Congressional District in the Atlanta area. During his 12 years in Congress, he served in various leadership roles, including chairman of the House Budget Committee.
