Breier has served as president and CEO of Kindred Healthcare since 2015. Previously he was chief operating officer and executive vice president and president of Kindred's hospital division. Kindred is the largest provider of home and hospice care, rehabilitation services and long-term acute care in the country. Last year, Brier announced Kindred was selling its 91 skilled-nursing facilities to pursue a strategy of handing off patients to facilities owned by preferred partners in its 'virtual portfolio.' This year Kindred entered into 'strategic clinical collaboration' with nursing home giant Genesis HealthCare.
