Miller founded Universal Health Services in 1979. UHS, a Fortune 500 company, is one of the largest hospital management companies in the nation, owning and operating more than 350 facilities in 37 states. Miller also serves as chairman, CEO and president of Universal Health Realty Income Trust, a real estate investment trust that he founded that currently has investments in 65 properties located in 20 states. UHS revenue rose 7% to $2.43 billion in the quarter ended June 30 compared with the year-ago period, according to its most recent earnings report. Net income was $185.6 million, up 1.8% over the year-ago quarter.
