Otsuka has been looking at creating new therapies for patients with behavioral health challenges. It launched the PsychU (www.psychu.org) campaign to educate behavioral health professionals about the importance of treating without prejudice all patients regardless of their disorders. The issues to be addressed include stigmatizing language, lack of positive messages around certain diagnoses (for example, depression is more widely accepted/less stigmatized than schizophrenia), and insufficient recognition of the patient's strengths and unique talents.
