Despite ranking seventh in population, Ohio leads the nation in opioid-related deaths, with Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, experiencing more than 500 overdose deaths in 2016. As a result, the county created a task force to raise awareness about the dangers of opioids. The public-service campaign launched in spring 2017 with the goal of creating awareness about the dangers of taking opioids and how they can lead to addiction. The campaign line, "Know the Risks," encourages people to question their prescription instead of blindly trusting what's inside the amber bottle.
