Although the epilepsy community is very active on social media, Sunovion did not have a strong social presence, not even a Facebook page. For the campaign, Sunovion identified a hashtag--#MyEpilepsyHero--for the community to rally behind and each week a new hero topic was featured to inspire patients and caregivers alike to share stories of their #MyEpilepsyHero. To incentivize the community to share their stories, Sunovion would donate $10,000 to the Epilepsy Foundation once 500 heroes were posted.
