Woods is still new to the CEO role at Carolinas HealthCare, having just started this spring after serving five years as president and chief operating officer at Christus Health in Irving, Texas. The new job caps more than 30 years in hospital administration for Woods, who also is serving this year as chairman-elect of the American Hospital Association. At Christus, Woods was second in command at a system with more than 40 hospitals with operations in seven U.S. states, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, with revenue of $3.6 billion in 2015. Carolinas operates 39 hospitals and posted total revenue of just over $5 billion in 2014.
