Drug overdose, primarily driven by opioid use, is a leading accidental killer nationwide. For many, opioid addiction isn't from recreational drug use, but a result of treatment for injury or chronic pain. Because of the stigma that addiction carries, victims are reluctant to even discuss the problem. The "Out the Monster" campaign focuses on eliminating the shame and starting an open conversation about treatment options for opioid addiction.
