More than 65 million people in the U.S. play the role of a caregiver for someone who is ill, disabled or elderly. While the caregiver has a major influence on treatment decisions, much of healthcare information and communications is focused almost exclusively on the patient, providers and even insurers, with little attention paid to the needs of caregivers. This campaign touts the social media platform Caregivers Speak Up, designed to offer peer support and education.
