Johns Hopkins Medicine
Dr. Paul Rothman, 57, has been CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, Baltimore, since July 2012. He also serves as dean of the school of medicine. Previously, he was dean of the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa and leader of the university's clinical practice plan. At Johns Hopkins, Rothman, a researcher as well as a physician, is in the midst of implementing a strategic plan to change the institution. The plan, which began implementation in fiscal 2014, is focused on strengthening research, particularly the data-driven variety, as well as care delivery, with new clinical protocols and more patient-centric approaches, such as 24-hour visitation.
