Pamela Cipriano
President, American Nurses Association
Last June, Cipriano was elected president of the American Nurses Association. The century-old labor organization advocates on behalf of the country's more than 3 million registered nurses. Cipriano, 61, is also a research associate professor at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. Before becoming ANA president, she served as a senior director at the healthcare consulting firm Galloway Advisory by iVantage. In 2010 and 2011, Cipriano held the post of distinguished nurse scholar in residence at the Institute of Medicine. She has a doctorate in nursing administration from the University of Utah College of Nursing.
