Victor Dzau
President, Institute of Medicine
Dr. Victor Dzau has served since July 2014 as president of the Institute of Medicine, which aims to help those in the government and private sector make informed decisions through its research initiatives. Before joining the IOM, Dzau, 69, was chancellor for health affairs at Duke University and CEO of the university's health system. Dzau is known as a trailblazer in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, and his own research helped lead to the development of angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which are used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure.
