Ronald DePinho

Dr. Ronald DePinho is just the fifth physician to serve as president of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center since its founding more than 70 years ago. DePinho, 60, has led the Houston-based, $4.4 billion cancer research center since 2011. Prior to that, he spent 14 years on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. In that capacity, he founded and ran the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science. DePinho's research has primarily focused on cancer detection and drug development. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine.
