Since 2007, Dr. Robert Grossman has served as dean and CEO of NYU Langone Medical Center, which includes the New York University School of Medicine and NYU Hospitals Center. Grossman, 67, joined NYU Langone in 2001 as chairman and professor of the department of radiology, in addition to holding appointments in several neuro-related departments. He led the hospital through the devastation of Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and has since led its financial and physical recovery. Before NYU, he practiced at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded the NIH's Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award in 1999 for his research on multiple sclerosis.
