Since 2010, Dr. Bruce Siegel, 54, has served as president and CEO of America's Essential Hospitals, the Washington-based association that represents more than 250 safety net hospitals and health systems nationwide. Previously, he served as director of the Center for Health Care Quality at George Washington University and was a professor of health policy at the School of Public Health and Health Services. He also served as CEO of Tampa (Fla.) General Healthcare, led the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. for two years and was health commissioner for New Jersey.
