Press Ganey has promoted Joe Greskoviak to CEO of the patient satisfaction consultancy firm, a spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday to Modern Healthcare.
Greskoviak succeeds Patrick Ryan, who has assumed the role of executive chairman of Press Ganey. A spokeswoman confirmed the executive change in response to an inquiry from Modern Healthcare.
Greskoviak became CEO on Jan. 1 after more than six years as president and chief operating officer. Along with his new role, he will remain COO and president.
Ryan will continue to work full-time at Press Ganey as executive chairman and Greskoviak will report to him, a spokesman said in an email Thursday morning. Ryan will focus on expansion opportunities for the firm through acquisitions, product expansion and talent development while Greskoviak will focus on the day-to-day operations.
In an interview with Modern Healthcare Thursday afternoon, Ryan said Press Ganey's business has tripled in the last seven years and the leadership change allows Ryan to focus more closely on company growth. The firm currently works with roughly 33,000 healthcare facilities including more than 90% of the nation's academic medical centers.
Ryan said he will focus primarily on opportunities for "organic" growth.
"The majority of our products come from within," he said.
Acquisitions of outside companies will be part of its strategy too, Ryan added. Along with offering patient experience surveys, Press Ganey provides data and consultancy services to providers focused on improving patient safety and experience.
Prior to Press Ganey, Greskoviak was a president at healthcare performance improvement company MedAssets, where he focused on business growth. He also had a role at Premier.
Ryan joined Press Ganey in 2012 as CEO. He was also at MedAssets before joining Press Ganey.
