Environmental, economic and social barriers to health have been tied to increased health risks and poor healthcare outcomes. These barriers are known as social determinants of health, and their impact on Americans' health is undeniable. From income to access to care to unsafe work and home environments, the factors of individuals' daily lives greatly impact their overall health.
Modern Healthcare Custom Media and Envolve are partnering to explore the importance that social determinants of health play in how payers and providers serve their members. Our study includes a survey of more than 600 payers and providers, and is designed to examine how healthcare leaders are addressing the impact of social determinants of health on member healthcare and outcomes. Our goal is to better understand areas for improvement, so that all individuals have the opportunity to achieve their best health.
