Great Britain-based GW Pharmaceuticals wants to sell a cannabis ingredient as a medication for certain seizures in children. The ingredient doesn't get people high. On Thursday, a panel will give a vote-based recommendation to the FDA, which the agency will take into account when it makes a decision about the medication in June.
The result comes from a late-stage trial of the experimental drug. Just 14% of patients taking a placebo had the same result.
