Rising star: April Camiling
April Camiling, 32
Although she's only been at Hackensack since 2014, April Camiling already serves as a role model and mentor for many of her peers. For instance, working closely with her unit's nurse manager, Camiling helped develop the Blood and Marrow Transplant Nurse Fellowship Program. She is responsible for coordinating speakers and content for 12 one-hour educational sessions. And she supports fellows on research projects, including a recent group of program graduates who studied the use of aromatherapy as a nursing intervention for stem cell transplant patients. She also strives to bring compassionate care to patients on the unit, including coordinating weekly yoga and meditation sessions.
