Athenahealth's Jack Kane will replace current chief financial officer Karl Stubelis, beginning July 21.
Kane, who will serve as interim CFO until the company finds a more permanent replacement, is currently a member of Athenahealth's board of directors and chair of the board's audit committee.
The CFO shake-up comes a couple of months after the EHR vendor announced a $1.4 million net loss for the first quarter of 2017, a performance Stubelis said the company was not satisfied with.
"The CFO transition reflects our commitment to ensuring that Athenahealth has world-class leaders to support the company and our increased scale and scope," said CEO Jonathan Bush in a statement.
Stubelis has served as CFO since May 2016, taking over from Kristi Matus. He joined the company in 2013. Earlier, he spent almost a decade at marketing and consulting firm Sapient Corp.
