WellStar Health System has named Dr. Rob Schreiner executive vice president and president of WellStar Medical Group.
In the new position, Schreiner will integrate WellStar Medical Group into the not-for-profit WellStar Health System, Georgia's largest health system, with 11 hospitals and 225 medical offices. Wellstar had $2.9 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2016 and $3.41 billion in assets.
"Continuous improvement in healthcare depends upon the attitudes and discretionary effort of its clinicians and staff," Schreiner said. "So my initial focus will be our operational workflows, team culture and service orientation toward one another, not just to patient and family."
Schreiner comes to the role from the healthcare consulting firm Studer Group, where he was executive medical director. Previously, he was managing director of population health for the Huron Consulting Group. Schreiner also spent 20 years with Kaiser Permanente Georgia, where he was chief operating officer, executive medical director, and other positions. He has served as president of the Medical Association of Atlanta and secretary of the Medical Association of Georgia.
