John Gantner named CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital's campus in NJ and other news makers

RWJBarnabas Health has made two executive changes.

John Gantner​ has been named president and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital's campus in New Brunswick, N.J., and Anthony Cava is now president of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital's campus in Somerville, N.J.

Gantner most recently was executive VP and chief integration officer. In that role, he helped oversee the recent merger of Barnabas Health and RWJ Health System. Previously he was executive VP and treasurer of University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Before joining RWJBarnabas, Gantner was executive VP and CFO of BayCare Health System based in southwest Florida.

Cava joined Somerville in 2015 as chief administrative officer. He led a number of expansions and renovations at the facility including a new maternity unit and cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Cava was previously COO of Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, N.J.

Scott Siemer​ has been named VP of regional development for Irving, Texas-based Medical City Healthcare, previously known as HCA North Texas.

In this new role, Siemer will focus on regional growth by developing access points and establishing relationships with other hospitals.

Siemer most recently was healthcare strategy manager at business advisory firm Kurt Salmon. Previously he was chief strategy and development officer of Methodist Health System based in Dallas.

Susan Reeves has been promoted to chief nursing executive for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health based in Lebanon, N.H., effective June 19. She replaces Gay Landstrom, who left late last year.

For the past 10 years, Reeves has been dean of Colby-Sawyer College's School of Nursing and Public Health, the affiliated nursing program of Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Reeves joined Dartmouth-Hitchcock in 1980 as a staff nurse. She was promoted to several leadership positions including director of inpatient psychiatry, director of administrative services and VP of operations. In the latter role she was responsible for the inpatient hospital, emergency services and the cancer center.

Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital President and CEO Jerry Fedele and COO Karen Poole​ will both retire in 2018.

Fedele plans to retire by the end of August 2018. Poole plans to retire at the end of April 2018.

Fedele has been CEO since 2008 and the hospital has grown under his leadership. During his tenure, the hospital built a neuroscience institute, a women's health and wellness institute and a cancer institute.

Poole was also hired as COO in 2008. She has more than 30 years of healthcare operations experience and has held various leadership positions throughout her career.
