Madelyn Pearson has been named senior VP of patient-care services and chief nursing officer of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, effective June 12. She succeeds Lisa Morrissey, who has been interim CNO since October 2016.
Pearson currently serves as regional senior VP of patient-care services and CNO for Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. She also co-chairs the nursing quality leadership council for Mount Sinai. Previously she was senior VP of patient-care services and CNO at Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center.
GOVERNMENT
Sean Hayes has been named HHS deputy assistant secretary for oversight and investigations.
Hayes was previously staff director on the House Oversight and Budget Reform Committee's Health Care, Benefits and Administrative Subcommittee. The panel has jurisdiction over healthcare policy, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
Hayes also previously worked as a staffer for the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He has been a congressional staff member since 2009.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Scott Peterson has been named VP of data architecture at healthcare consulting firm Avalere Health, based in Washington, D.C.
Peterson was most recently CIO of the Minnesota Department of Human Services. During his two-year tenure, he was responsible for operating the state's payment system and health insurance exchange, MNsure. He began working for the state in 2010.
In his new role at Avalere, Peterson will lead efforts to develop data, analytics and technology solutions. Avalere recently made efforts to offer data-driven technology platforms such as outcomes-based contracting for pharmaceutical manufacturers and health plans.
